About Us

Prince Edward County is an island in Lake Ontario where you go to fall in love with food, drink, nature, art, and community all over again. We’re a cluster of small hamlets and villages. Our roots are deep in farming and agriculture, trade through our waterways, and unique natural features surrounded by 800km of shoreline. You may have just found us but we’ve been welcoming visitors to our beaches for almost 200 years.

Today ‘The County’ is home to artists, entrepreneurs, farmers, winemakersbrewmastersdistillers, and chefs, and all sorts of creative and passionate folks. We have a reputation for capturing hearts and imaginations with our memorable experiences, notable history, and significant natural landscapes, so be warned: you may find yourself visiting for the weekend but considering staying for a lifetime.Visit The County acknowledges that it is on traditional land that has been inhabited by the Anishnaabeg, Wendat, and Haudenosaunee Peoples and adjacent to the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) community of Tyendinaga. We give thanks to all the generations of people who have taken care of this land for thousands of years. We recognize and deeply appreciate Indigenous Peoples’ historic connection to this land. Today, the Prince Edward County is still home to many First Nations and Metis people, and we are grateful to have an opportunity to meet here, work, travel, and continue stewardship on this land.
