Susan R. Harris is Professor Emerita in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of British Columbia. One of the leading physical therapist researchers in the world, Dr. Harris has received awards from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association as well as an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Harris’ research includes early diagnosis of cerebral palsy, effectiveness of early physical therapy for children with developmental disabilities, safe levels of exercise for women with breast cancer, and communication between persons with chronic illness and their health care providers.
