About Me


Wayne Martin obtained his PhD from the University of California in Davis (1974) and returned to Ontario Veterinary College as Canada’s first PhD-level veterinary epidemiologist. In 1987, he became the founding Chair of the Department of Population Medicine. He was Chair until 1999 and now continues to teach, especially graduate students, and pursue research both in Canada and internationally with a focus on zoonotic diseases. He has been named a University Emeritus Professor at the University of Guelph. Dr Martin serves on national and international panels, and is co-author of two successful texts in veterinary epidemiology.
