Sheldon, Robert

About Me

Dr. Robert Sheldon is a premier cardiologist/scientist. His major contributions have been in understanding “cardiac” syncope, a common cause of fainting or blacking out. A recent major finding was that the commonly-accepted test for syncope, testing on a tilt table, is probably not of much value. He has also made key advances in understanding rhythm disturbances of the heart. Dr. Sheldon has provided major service at the University of Calgary as head of the Division of Calgary, at the Calgary Health Region as the Vice-President Research and at the national level as a member of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Bob Sheldon is also an excellent clinician and a fine teacher.
