About Me


Rima Rozen is Professor of Pediatrics and Human Genetics at McGill University, Scientific Director of the Montreal Children s Hospital and Deputy Scientific Director of the McGill University Health Centre. She is also the Director of the CIHR Group in Medical Genetics at McGill, a group first established in 1972. Her research centers on the genetic and nutritional determinants of several common disorders including birth defects and cancer. She is the author of over 160 publications, including one report that has received more than 2000 citations. She is the co-editor of a book, MTHFR Polymorphisms and Disease , that covers the research area that she developed and for which she has received international recognition. She established the first accredited molecular genetics service laboratory in Quebec and continued to direct it for 17 years. She has received several prestigious awards including the Prix d’Excellence for pediatric research from the Inter-Service Clubs Council of Quebec, the Prix Léo-Pariseau from the Association canadienne-francaise pour l avancement des sciences, a James McGill Professorship and a CIHR Senior Scientist Award.
