Laurie received her undergraduate music degree from the University of Western Ontario studying with Dana Pomerants-Mazurkevich and her Masters degree from the University of Toronto. She has taught Suzuki violin for 35+ years in her home studio and at workshops and institutes. Many of her students have graduated from faculties of music including: UT; Glenn Gould School; UWO; Laurier and Queen?s; as well as London Academy and Guild Hall; UK. She is Director of Strings for the La Jeunesse Youth Orchestra; principle second for Northumberland Orchestra and Choir; founder and director of Durham Music Camp and a retired teacher of music and special education in the Kawartha Pine Ridge district school board.
