About Me

I am New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst, with more than 20 years’experience in the field.

I offer assessment, consultation and therapeutic intervention to individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families.

I can assist with understanding and overcoming difficulties in life, reducing stress, restoring functioning and developing personal potential.

I can provide parenting assessment and early intervention programfor parent/caregiver-child psychotherapy.

I endorse Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy as the elective form of treatment for complex presentations.

Interventions aiming at developing/strengthening the capacity to ‘mentalize' are also part of my areas of interest and expertise.

I completed a 5 year degree in Psychology and 4 year Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Padua (Italy). I also completed a Postgraduate Degree on Alcohol related Problems and Addiction at the University of Florence (Italy) and a Masters in Psychoanalytical Observational Studies at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, in conjunction with the University of East London (UK). I completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Pavia (Italy) regarding the development of ‘mentalization' in blind children and in the relationship with their parents. Since I moved to NEw Zealand, I continued my training as a Psychoanalyst remotely with the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute.

One of my main interests is devoted to a better understanding of psychological development over the course of the life span, considering the impact of traumatic experiences particularly during early childhood and adolescence.

Mentalization Based Treatments are amongst the Interventions that best encompass this area of work as the capacity to mentalize has been considered a protective factor toward traumatic experiences.

Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a specific form of therapy for a wide variety of emotional difficulties and forms of suffering that people encounter at some stage in their life, from the most common forms of anxiety and depression to the most particular and intimate questions that one may grapple with as a human being.

I can provide clinical supervision for professionals working/interested particularly in the above mentioned approaches.
