R. Brian Haynes OC, MD, PhD, FRSC, is a world leader in medical information research and knowledge translation as a means to improve clinical and health care through improving the retrieval, distillation, synthesis, dissemination and application of validated health care research knowledge. A co-founder of evidence-based health care, he has created and disseminated information resources that define what is currently best evidence for health care decisions. He has led the advancement of knowledge translation research and implementation science in Canada. His work is widely known and used around the world.
