Peter Lewis is Professor of Biochemistry and Associate Vice President, Research at the University of Toronto. Previously, he was Chair of the Department of Biochemistry from 1991-2001 and Vice Dean, Research and International Relations from 2002- 2010. He is internationally recognized as an expert in the area of epigenetics and protein folding. As an educator he has taught thousands of undergraduates and trained many graduate students, some of whom are faculty across Canada. In both roles, his leadership resulted in research and teaching endeavours that are at the top nationally and very strong internationally.
