About Us


Distress Centre Niagara is a not for profit agency that provides support to those in need in our community.  We presently offer the following three programs 

24 Hour Distress Line:  This program is available at no cost to anyone in need.  Our trained volunteer responders provide emotional support by listening to callers concerns and assist with solving their own problems, provide information and referrals where appropriate and intervene in life threatening situations. 

Mental Health and Addictions Access Line: This program is a free and confidential telephone support service.  Our team consists of highly trained staff and volunteers who provide front line 24/7 phone support and helps the callers get connected with the appropriate mental health or addcitions servces across Niagara. This is offered in collarboration with 16 mental health and addiction agcencies in the region.

Ontario Online & Text Crisis Services:  This program is free and available to anyone in need between the hours of 2pm and 2am EST.   This program provides thes same services as the 24 hour Distress Line, but is an alternative avaialble to someone who may not feel comformatioy by telephone or prefers comminication by text or online chat.
