About My Pâtede Verre Glass Work

The technique Iuse for glass making is called pâte de verre. It is the original method ofglass making, based on lost wax process, which was used for sculpting widely amongancient civilizations and is still in use now.

I am fascinatedwith the ever changing lights that is transmitted through glass. I am foreverafter new expression of lights – glass lights and colours. I am delighted whenthe viewers of my glasswork can share the beauty I find in them.

I grew up in a big garden by the sea. In the13th century, there was an outstanding poet who was, at the same time, theruler of Japan. I love reading and re-reading his powerful poems of the sea.The rhythmic, dancing, joyous movement of waves resonates not only in me but istranslated into the glass pieces I  create.
