About Me

Artist Statement
Working primarily in sculpture and installation, I use traditional processes such as mold-making and casting techniques to explore the evocative potential of everyday objects. By playing with materiality, form, function, and symbolism, I create works that attempt to address contemporary issues and unpack connections to the past.
Much of my practice is influenced by ideas tied to collective memory, the dissonance of hybrid identities, the precariousness of home and belonging, and the ongoing movement of individuals and groups of individuals. With interests that intersect with time and the body, recurring motifs that often emerge include food and depictions of familial spaces especially where communal gatherings and cultural interactions take place.
