Michael Wolfson served for 35 years in the federal government, latterly as the Assistant Chief Statistician, Analysis and Development, at Statistics Canada. He then had a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair at the University of Ottawa in Populatin Health Modeling.  He received his BSc in computer science, math, and economics from the University of Toronto in 1971 and his Ph.D. in economics from Cambridge University in 1977,  Following both retirement,s he remains active in some research collaborations, has participated in a number of panel studies, and writes occasional op-eds. The Health Sciences are most fortunate to have Dr. Wolfson move into our field and continue his varied contributions.
