Raynault, Marie-France

About Me


Marie-France Raynault is a public health physician and Director of the University of Montreal’s Department of Social and Preventive Medicine. Her research and intervention interests focus on the social determinants of health, the impact of social policies on health, and the fight against poverty. In 2001, she founded OMISS (Observatoire montréalais des inégalités sociales et de la santé), an organization promoting knowledge exchange between researchers and decision makers. She is currently Executive Director of the Lea Roback Research Centre, which groups researchers from four Montreal universities, two public health institutions and a network of decision makers, with a view to improving the health of disadvantaged populations.
