About Me


Keith Walley is a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Critical Care) at the University of British Columbia and the Associate Director of McDonald Research Laboratories and the Assistant Head, Basic Research in the Department of Medicine, St. Paul’s Hospital, James Hogg iCAPTURE Centre for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Research. He is researching the genetic determinants of the acute inflammatory response and organ failure associated with sepsis. Dr. Walley aims to clarify the genetic mechanisms that give rise to the inflammatory response and to identify patients who are at risk for adverse outcomes based on their genetic make-up. His awards include the UBC lzaak Walton Killam Memorial Faculty Fellowship (1995-96) and the Distinguished Medical Research Lecturer, UBC Faculty of Medicine, 1999.
