Anna Bigland-Pritchard, Portfolio Artist: 

Anna Bigland-Pritchard is a queer soprano, music director, and vocal instructor. Interested in the intersection of climate justice, decolonization, community-building, intersectional feminism, queerness, and the performing arts, Anna is passionate about using whatever medium possible to empower creative, inspiring, and resonant communities. Anna grew up in Bristol, England, and rural Saskatchewan. She currently lives in Lekwungen territory, studying with Nancy Argenta. Anna has a BMus from Canadian Mennonite University, and a Post-baccelaureate Diploma in Performance from the University of Manitoba.

Anna has recently been selected to participate in Lucky Opera's 48 Hour Opera Project which takes place at the end of October 2021. She recently made her debut with the Victoria Philharmonic Choir in October 2021, singing the role of Eve in Haydn’s The Creation. Recent operatic role studies include Zdenka, Despina, Juliet (Gounod), and Anne Page. Anna runs a private voice studio Hummingbird Music Studio, is studying to become an Expressive Arts Therapist, co-directs comedic classical music ensemble BachStreet (Winnipeg), and runs small social media management business abp creative. A versatile vocalist, Anna performs not only as a classical soprano, but also as a musical theatre singer-actor, and singer-songwriter.
