Jayne Hammond

About Me


Jayne Hammond is a soprano, arts administrator, and new music enthusiast living and working on Treaty One territory. Originally from Victoria, Jayne has made a notable impact on the performing arts community since moving to Winnipeg in 2015. As Grants & Corporate Giving Manager for Manitoba Opera, Jayne acts as the lead grant writer and corporate relationship holder for the company. She also maintains a career as a freelance grant writer and consultant for small performing arts organizations. As a volunteer, Jayne acts as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for Flipside Opera & Art Song Collective, a Manitoba Mentor with Opera InReach, and a board member with the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Manitoba Chapter.

 

Jayne is an active performer and has appeared as a soloist with Pacific Opera Victoria, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Baroque Festival, and the Victoria Symphony. A passionate advocate for new music, Jayne was recently featured as a finalist in the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition and as Milica in a hybrid production of Sokolovic's Svadba with Manitoba Underground Opera. She holds an MMus from the University of Manitoba as well as a BMus (Hon.) and an Opera Diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University.
