In 1994 Bill Hay, owner of KFC in Stewiacke, had a big idea. Excited by the 1991 discovery of mastodon bones in nearby Milford, Bill commissioned a life size replica of the mastodon that became the inspiration to create Mastodon Ridge in Stewiacke.
