About Me


Brazilian mezzo-soprano Camila Montefusco is quickly distinguishing herself as a passionate and
exciting artist. Last season, she was a young artist with the Britten Pears Young Artist Program,
the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, and Toronto Summer Music Festival. Camila has been
awarded several prizes and scholarships, including First prize at the Maritsa Brookes Concerto
Competition, Encouragement Prize from the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions, Second Prize
at the Galina Pisarenko Youth Competition (Russia), and the Revelation Prize at the Linus Lerner
International Vocal Competition (Brazil). Past operatic roles include Goffredo in Handel’s Rinaldo,
Nada in Sokolovic’s Svadba, La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Indiana Elliot in
Thompson’s The Mother of Us All.
