About Me


Dr. Josée G. Lavoie is an international renown French Canadian scholar who, for the past thirty years, has been working in partnership with Indigenous communities and organizations to improve Indigenous peoples’ access to responsive health services. She is a professor in Community Health Sciences at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, and Fulbright scholar. She is also Director of Ongomiizwin Research at the Indigenous Institute of Health and Healing. She is actively engaged in collaborations in Australia and New Zealand, and in circumpolar countries.
