Dr. Sepali Guruge is an international expert on the complex intersections between health, immigration, partner violence, and aging. Her work with immigrant women and older immigrant adults, and commitment to health equity and improving the resiliency of marginalized populations, has garnered local, national, and international attention. The evidence-based interventions she has developed in collaboration with health, social, and settlement sectors, government stakeholders, and affected individuals have improved the health of immigrants, their families, and broader communities. Government ministries/agencies have developed meaningful policies and practices based directly on her research related to mental health, gender-based violence, and aging within immigrant communities.
