About Me


Jocelyn Downie is a Canadian leader and international expert in the intersecting areas of health law, policy, and ethics. Her collaborative research reaches both policy and academic audiences in many fields including law, bioethics, philosophy, and health professions. Dying Justice, winner of the 2005 RSC Abbyann D. Lynch Bioethics Medal, is the authoritative study of end of life law and policy in Canada. Professor Downie has helped to set the standards for governance of research involving humans and her demonstrated leadership on neuroimaging ethics has made visible many complex issues related to this new technology.
