John Bell received his PhD in Virology and Immunology from McMaster University in 1982. He is a Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. John is the Scientific Director of BioCanRx, a Network of Centres of Excellence developing novel immune based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and making them available to Canadian cancer patients. He is an internationally recognized leader in the development and commercialization of therapeutic viruses that selectively replicate in and kill cancer cells. Dr. Bell is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
