Dr. Anna Taddio, Professor, Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and Senior Associate Scientist, The Hospital for Sick Children, is internationally recognized for her work related to pain management during medical procedures and the long-term harms of unmitigated pain. Dr. Taddio founded and currently leads a national inter-disciplinary, multi-sectoral team, Help Eliminate Pain in Kids and Adults (HELPinKids&Adults), investigating and promoting evidence-based pain management during vaccination. The World Health Organization adopted the recommendations from Dr. Taddio and her team in its first ever global guideline about reducing pain at the time of immunization, applicable to 194 member countries.
