Dr. Walter Siqueira is a dental clinician-scientist recognized internationally for his expertise in saliva. He completed his DDS, and PhD in oral biology/biochemistry in Brazil and, a postdoctorate in oral biology in the USA, and is currently Professor and Associate Dean, Academic at the University of Saskatchewan, where he also leads the Salivary Proteomics Research Laboratory. His translational research program uses salivary components to investigate a wide variety of oral health conditions and to develop saliva-based diagnostics and therapeutics. He is highly involved with the Canadian Association for Dental Research (President 2019-2021) and other national and international oral health research organizations.
