Dr. James (Jim) Petrik is an international leader in translational ovarian cancer research, pioneering the use of novel therapeutics to enhance the uptake and efficacy of other therapeutic modalities. With this approach, Dr. Petrik has been able to induce regression of advanced stage ovarian cancer in preclinical models generated in his laboratory. Dr. Petrik is a strong advocate for ovarian cancer research, both at the federal government and community levels. In addition to his academic role as a University of Guelph Professor, Dr. Petrik has had long-standing involvement in the fire service and is Chief of the Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department.
