Dr. Anne Monique Nuyt is a neonatologist and researcher with a long-standing interest in cardiovascular diseases risk of her preterm patients as they reach adulthood. By combining her vast experience in the neonatal intensive care unit with experimental-, clinical and population based studies of young adults born preterm, her pioneering work unravels how cardiovascular problems develop after preterm birth, identifies optimal screening strategies and tests specifically targeted therapies. Beyond her own research, Dr. Nuyt significantly contributes to promote the study of early life determinants of pediatric and adult health through conferences, patient advocacy, involvement in scientific societies, and mentoring of younger clinician-scientists.
