About Me


Dr. Catherine J Field is an international leader in human nutrition, studying ways that long chain fatty acids (LCFA) benefit the immune system. Her work contributed adding LCFA to infant formula and in improvements in women's diet during pregnancy and when fighting breast cancer. Her leadership experience is vast and wide-ranging, including having been President of the American Society of Nutrition, the largest professional nutrition society in the world. She is passionate about serving and supporting collaboration across disciplines to integrate nutrition into health science and apply this knowledge to improve the health of Canadian and global citizens.
