About Us

World-class theatre — in the heart of Niagara wine country. 13 plays on 3 stages, February to December, plus countless other events & activities, online, outdoors and around the region.

The Shaw Festival is a bi-national repertory theatre company: host to one of the world's leading classical theatrical ensembles, and one of only a handful of core repertory ensembles left in the English world. In the spirit of Bernard Shaw, the Shaw Festival creates unforgettable theatre encounters, delivered through the ingenuity and skill of our resident repertory acting ensemble and artisans.

The following five key values guide us, values which have become increasingly imperative in the current crisis: Excellence, Inclusion, Compassion, Sustainability, Community.

Under Tim Carroll, Artistic Director and Tim Jennings, Executive Director, this Festival is committed to these core principles while exploring new ways to engage audiences and foster innovation in our company. The focus for both is the distinctive nature of theatre as a way to create real human connections.

With a dozen or more productions each year performed in three theatres for an audience of more than 325,000+, the Shaw Festival has grown tobecome a major Canadian cultural icon, a gem in this country's rich cultural heritage.
