Arya M. Sharma, MD, is Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta and is globally recognised as Canada's leading voice in obesity science and medicine. He has authored over 450 scientific articles and has lectured in over 50 countries on evidence-based prevention and management of obesity. He is the Scientific Director of Obesity Canada, Canada's national health charity focussed on improving the lives of Canadians affected by obesity, and his work has been extensively recognised through numerous prestigious awards.
