The Family Influence:

In the 1960’s my father, my aunt, my uncle and my
grandmother immigrated from a small Portuguese Island in the Atlantic Ocean
called Madeira. They settled in the Toronto area where my grandfather had
already been living and working to sponsor their eventual immigration. It’s
your typical immigrant story where they came with no money and didn’t speak any
English but knew how to work! My Uncle Joe (Jose) after struggling through
elementary school, than eventually high school decided to head to George Brown
College and become a jeweller. With his intense hardwork and creative mind, he
eventually graduated and became a jeweller. During his early days as a
jeweller, he befriended another immigrant, this gentlemen of Chinese decent.
They became instant friends and quickly business partners! In the late 1970’s
“The Time Shop” was born. A place where you could bring not only your jewellery
but your clocks and watches to be repaired! The business exploded! Now with
over 45 stores in Ontario and Quebec, it holds the title as Canada’s largest
FAMILY OWNED watch and jewellery repair company!  

I worked part time as teen for them and learned the old school ways that are often lost in time.

I began doing jobs for friends and family as an adult and expanded to repairing vintage, watches, clocks, jewellery, antiques etc and selling on Etsy. Word of mouth worked and my small business was steady and remains steady! Justin Time Watch and Jewellery Repair was born because you have to love what you do The push to develop it into a full time business after 12 years of doing this part time was JUSTIN TIME!
