Darcy D.Marciniuk, MD, FRCPC, Master FCCP, FCAHS. Associate Vice-President Research,University of Saskatchewan

Dr. Marciniukis a Professor of Medicine in Respirology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, and recognized internationally as an expert and leader in COPD, clinical exercise physiology, and pulmonary rehabilitation with 425 invited international presentations and more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, chapters and reviews.  Dr. Marciniuk is a past-President of the CanadianThoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians, past-Chair of the Forum of International Respiratory Societies, and served as a founding Steering Committee member of Canada’s National Lung Health Framework.  He co-chaired the China Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) Steering Committee which led to the Chinese National Health Commission officially endorsing PCCM in 2016 as a medical subspecialty in China.  Dr. Marciniuk is the Deputy Editor (Outreach) for the journal CHEST, and Medical Director of the LiveWell COPD Chronic Disease Management Program in the Saskatchewan Health Authority.  As Associate Vice-President Research, he led the development of the University of Saskatchewan’s International Blueprint and currently chairs the institution’s Pandemic Response and Recovery Team.  Dr. Marciniuk has been bestowed withthe Distinguished Scientist Honor Lecture and the Thomas L. Petty Master FCCP Memorial Honor Lecture by the American College of Chest Physicians, the Founder’s Award by the Canadian Lung Association, and the Christie Memorial Lecture and Award by the Canadian Thoracic Society.
