Dr Brenda Hemmelgarn is a clinician scientist and Professor and Head of the Department of Community Health Sciences, University of Calgary. Her research interests are in the study of chronic medical conditions including chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, as well as knowledge translation strategies to improve care provided to this patient population. She is the recipient of the Roy and Vi Baay Chair in Kidney Research, has over 400 peer-reviewed publications.
