About Me


Thomas Tiedje is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria. He served as Dean of Engineering at the University of Victoria from September 2008-June 2018. Prior to moving to Victoria he was a faculty member and Department Head in the faculties of Science and Applied Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver; before that he worked at Exxon Research and Engineering Company on photovoltaics. His research expertise is in the area of semiconductor thin films and optical devices.  He is a Professional Engineer and a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Society of Senior Engineers.
