About Us

Mission Statement

Community Living Greater Sudbury fosters meaningful living for all people with developmental disabilities.

Intégration Communautaire Grand Sudbury favorise une vie significative pour toutes les personnes ayant une déficience intellectuelle.

Guiding Principles

Community Living Greater Sudbury is committed to the goal of assisting people who have an intellectual disability to experience their full potential.  CLGS encourages people to live, work and play as valued citizens in their home and communities.  Through our Residential and Day Programs as well as links we have with recreational supports, we succeed in providing plans that are individually tailored with a focus on mind/body/spirit.

We encourage people to make informed decisions, achieve their dreams and participate in the community life they desire as identified in their Life Plans.

CLGS is responsible for the delivery of four programs:

Residential Program: We operate eight residential group homes throughout the city of Greater Sudbury where 40 people are supported.
Day Program: There are two drop-in centres that offer day programming for people in the community. One community-based centre serves people full-time.
Host Family Program: This program matches adults with a developmental disability with families who open their homes to them. Currently, there are over 50 people supported by host families throughout the city.
Respite Service: CLGS offers hourly and weekend respite service for host family members.

We support over 100 people and receive our funding from the Ontario government's Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. CLGS has an operating budget of $12 million and employs 200 people.
