André Cantin received his MD degree from the University of Sherbrooke. He is a respirologist with the Pulmonary Division at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaie de Sherbrooke (CHUA) and Professor of Medicine at the University of Sherbrooke. Dr. Cantin directs the Adult Cystic Fibrosis clinic and a specialized clinic in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at the CHUS. His research focuses on lung inflammation, oxidants and antioxidants in cystic fibrosis and pulmonary fibrosis. He has authored over 100 articles on lung disease. He has served as the Chair of the Medical/Scientific Advisory Committee for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Institute of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Health Advisory Board (2001-2006).
