I use a relational approach. I work with clients who present with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem and depression.
I provide Organisation Development – mentoring, coaching, training.
I offer supervision (from an Organisational perspective) for clinicians who also manage staff.
I have been a Registered Psychologist since 1993; I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a trained Counsellor. My initial training was as a teacher and then as a teacher of the Deaf. I have worked with a very wide range of people: very young deaf children, as a Crisis Counsellor, with Gay and Lesbian clients, within organisations and with people in South Pacific and Asian countries.
As well as working with organisations and EAP clients I offer treatment for people with complex and difficult disorders.
I work primarily in the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy, developed by Russell Meares and Robert Hobson and associated with the Westmead Hospital and the University of Sydney. The model restores a sense of personal identity
and wellbeing and a very strong evidence-base supports its effectiveness: It is one of the best validated of all currently employed psychotherapies. Psychotherapy works on the repair of underlying structures, it is a longer-term process of treatment and can take several years. I work with people with problems that have built up over the course of a long period of time – with issues that keep coming back such as serious anxiety, self-esteem and depression.
I have two separate supervisors – one is an experienced Clinical Psychologist (fortnightly) and the other an experienced Psychotherapist weekly).
