Dr. Jocalyn Clark is Canada's pre-eminent international medical journal editor who has raised global awareness of neglected health issues. Her academic work documents underrepresentation of vulnerable groups in research, and the value of the social sciences in health. Her outstanding editorial leadership as Executive Editor of The Lancet, and in earlier leadership roles at BMJ and PLOS Medicine, has advanced global understanding of the social sciences applied to health, interests of women and gender, and Canadian academic health sciences and policy within a global context. She is internationally recognized for leadership to improve gender equality in medicine and global health.
