About Me


Annette Browne is a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar at the University of British Columbia, School of Nursing. A renowned Canadian leader and advocate for quality care for Indigenous and non Indigenous peoples, her research is transforming care for people most impacted by health inequities, including racism, discrimination and stigma. Partnerships with Indigenous leaders and healthcare agencies are foundational to her research program, resulting in the development of ground-breaking strategies that are directly impacting initiatives and policies to improve healthcare and health outcomes. As author of over 100 journal articles and book chapters, and editor of a leading nursing textbook, her publications on evidence-based strategies for fostering health equity are influencing researchers, policymakers, and clinicians across Canada and internationally.
