About Me

Howard Feldman, Professor and Head of the Division of Neurology at UBC, Director of the UBC Hospital Clinical for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders, and a Senior Investigator at the Brain Research Centre, is internationally-renowned for his research into geriatric cognitive disorders, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. He has lead several international randomized clinical trials of experimental therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease, and has lead several large-scale national epidemiological studies. He recently identified a new gene, called progranulin, in which null mutations lead to an autosomal dominant form of frontotemporal dementia.
