Chan Wirasinghe has undertaken ground breaking research and former editor for 25 years of a leading international journal in transportation engineering.  His 12.5 year deanship at the University of Calgary led to an updated engineering program with nine BSc degrees (e.g. software, geomatics, oil & gas), joint degrees with arts faculties, a minor in Entrepreneurship, and multidisciplinary graduate degrees in Environmental and Bio-Medical Engineering.  He instituted industry-based Advisory Councils for most programs and over twenty research chairs.  Through his efforts and direction, the Faculty committed substantially to team-based, multidisciplinary research. He continues to contribute his knowledge and efforts as a Professor at the University of Calgary.
