Together, with donors, recipients, employees, partners and
volunteers, we are Canada's lifeline. Our role is to provide lifesaving
products and services in transfusion and transplantation for Canadian patients,
and to safeguard Canada's systems of life essentials in blood, plasma,
stem cells, and organs and tissues.

Our
story

Born from crisis, our early years were about establishing
trust in Canada's blood system, and earning the privilege of being a lifeline
for patients. Our brand served us well.

Today, Canadians expect more. To remain relevant, we must
adapt, evolve, improve and apply even greater focus to patient needs. We must
increase participation in our systems and expand awareness of our work in
blood, plasma, stem cells, and organs and tissues. We must demonstrate to all
Canadians that we are keeping pace with these changing times.

As we renew our brand promise, we must make a connection
that is infinitely stronger today, because it will give patients who need it,
the real possibility of a stronger tomorrow.

2020 was a milestone year for Canadian Blood Services as we
opened the first ever of its kind plasma center here in Sudbury. This will be a unique opportunity for?Sudburians?to seize
the occasion to actively contribute to Canada's Lifeline?and their
community?through plasma donation. ?The demand for plasma continues
to grow at an expediential speed. The need for plasma is four times what we are
currently able to collect here in Canada with over 80% of the plasma being used
for Canadian patients being purchased from the USA.

Given our unique role within Canadian healthcare, and that we
provide essential products and services for patients, we are committed to
welcoming donors to our donor centres throughout the COVID-19
pandemic, even during lockdown. Donating plasma is a positive
way to cope with the pandemic and can help so many others in need.
