Richard Munz, Professor, McGill University, is internationally recognized as a researcher and consultant in the field of thermal plasma technology. He has developed applications of plasma in metallurgical processing waste treatment and nanoparticle manufacture. He has made important contributions to the control of electrode erosion, and he is a co-inventor on four patents on inventions based on his research, carried out in collaboration with industry. He has served the engineering community through his numerous activities on behalf of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering.
