About Me


Professor René Therrien has established himself as a national and international leader in the simulation of complex hydrogeological problems. He has developed state-of-the art, efficient numerical simulations and that are currently used worldwide to address real water resources issues, for example, in the long term storage of nuclear waste and in contaminant remediation. His work is extensive and frequently cited. He has served on expert panels and advisory boards for the Royal Society of Canada, the Council of Canadian Academies and NRCan. Dr. Therrien has also made extensive contributions to the training of the next generation of scientists and engineers as well as significant administrative contributions to promote research in engineering.
