Réal Laporte has been a key player in major infrastructure projects, which require specialized skills, a strong focus, and a willingness to innovate in many aspects. He has demonstrated environmental and social awareness, technical expertise and openness to achieve cutting-edge development in engineering and a long-term vision of the society impacted by the project. Réal has worked with local communities and helped maintain and develop the ecosystems around the infrastructure projects, and incorporated social and environmental criteria into the project design. As President of Hydro-Quebec's Innovation, Equipment and Shared Services division, Réal Laporte has been responsible for the development and building of large power plants, and connecting them to the Hydro-Quebec grid; a portfolio close to $15 billion. He has successfully met these challenges while honouring the engineering community.
