Dr. P. J. Simmons has ensured ownership of his vision of corporate responsibility for sustainability and environmental protection has been adopted by Eco-Tec employees and many of the company's clients. He lectures regularly on entrepreneurship, innovation and environmental sustainability to students at the Universities of Toronto and UOIT. He has driven the innovative process in part by adapting and integrating other technologies to include, for example, reverse osmosis membranes and filtration of particulate matter. He participated in the establishment of University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), serving as a governor and later as Chairman of the Board, he also serves on the University of Toronto, Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry's Board of Advisors.
