About Me


Peter Lawrence of UBC is internationally recognized as a leading researcher in the area of robotics and telecontrol. His achievements have led to numerous new and advanced technologies that have greatly impacted the field of rehabilitation engineering. He has contributed significantly to the literature; and his research has led to 16 patents and 7 technology transfers to industry. He is a dedicated and excellent teacher, having received a UBC Killam Teaching Prize in 1997, the APEGBC Teaching Award of Excellence in 2002, as well as being appointed the NSERC Chair in Design Engineering from 2002-07.
