Professional Biography


Alberto Zucconi is a psychologists, psychotherapist, a member of the Italian Guild of Psychologists. Alberto has been working as an educator, trainer, consultant. He is the president of the Person Centered Approach Institute (IACP), a non profit scientific organization he funded in 1979 with Carl R. Rogers and Charles Devonshire. Alberto is Chair of the Board of Trustees World Academy of Art and Science, Secretary General World University Consortium, Senior Staff of the Carl Rogers Peace Institute, Faculty member of the Western Behavioral Science Institute, La Jolla, CA. Board member of the University for Sustainability, Santa Fè, New Mexico, co-director World Sustainability Forum, Co-director post graduate courses Interuniversity Centre, Dubrovnick; member of the Clinical Practice Network of the World Health Organization; scientific advisor European Office for Investment on Health, World Health Organization/Europe; scientific committee member Shared Societies and Values, Sarajevo; member scientific committee Institute Advanced Studies in Levant Civilization, Bucharest, Romania;  Member Advisory Board Karabuck University, Turkey; member of the Advisory Board Inter-parliamentary Coalition  for Global Ethics. U.S.A.
The American Psychological Association, Division 32,in 2012 gave to Alberto Zucconi and IACP the Charlotte and Karl Bühler Award, arecognition given to an individual associated with an institution, that hasmade an outstanding and lasting contribution to humanistic psychology.  In 2022 the American Psychological Associationbestowed Alberto Zucconi the Carl Rogers Award for his scientific contributionsto Humanistic Psychology.  Alberto is the founder and Director of the peer-reviewed journalDa Persona a Persona, Journal of personcentered studies, Alpes Editore, Roma, Italy;  member of the editorial board of Cadmus, and Eruditio, two  journals ofthe World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS); of the Person Centered & Experiential Psychotherapies, Journal of theWorld Association for Person centered and Experiential Psychotherapy, Routledge,Taylor and Francis Group; of TheHumanistic Psychologist, Journal of the Division 32 of the AmericanPsychological Association (APA). Dr. Zucconi has published several books, bookchapters and papers, presented worldwide in conferences, directed severalresearch projects and training projects financed by the European Union; the last one the Care Path Project  organized with Prof. Luca Rolle' of the  Faculty of Psychology of the University of Turin, Italy and other partners was an online training program on Trauma Informed Best Practices for professionals helping children out of care. At present  Dr. Zucconi is organizing with prof. Rollè an onlyne Trauma Informed Best Practice Free Master Program for Ukranian psychotherapists in collaboration with the University of Turin, The Black Sea University Consortium, the World Academy of Art and Science, the World University Consortium and the University for Sustainability.    Dr. Zucconi in the last 50years has been promoting the applications of the Person Centered Approach, of Trauma Informed Care, of HealthPsychology and of Sustainability in various settings in his internationalactivities of  training, teachingand  consulting.
