Nimal Rajapakse is internationally recognized as a leading researcher in the fields of computational mechanics, mechanics of advanced materials, elasticity, fracture mechanics and geomechanics.  The quality of his work is apparent by his publication and citation records and by the use of his work in engineering applications.  Dr. Rajapakse also has a truly admirable record with regard to service to the engineering profession and the technical community, and has served in a wide range of administrative and leadership roles. He is currently a Professor at Simon Fraser University.
