Nariman Sepehri, Fellow ASME, CSME, is an internationally recognized expert in the engineering field of Fluid Power Systems and Control. He is the world leader in detecting hydraulic actuator leakage and merging it with control corrections to create a self-healing approach in safety critical applications (as in aircrafts). He has published 98 journal articles, is holder of five patents and co-author of a textbook on Hydrostatic Actuation. His world-class fluid power laboratory has housed 62 engineers at masters, doctoral and postdoctoral levels. He has allocated a good portion of his time to serve technical societies, most notably as Chair of ASME Fluid Power Systems and Technology Division. He was involved in the organization of 58 international conferences and has served on editorial boards of 8 journals.
